What makes people cheat? The networking platform Gleeden conducted a survey of tens of thousands of its users and identified the top 10 reasons for cheating. The survey was conducted among users aged 35-45 from the Tier 1 cities in India such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune.
The expert sheds some light on the scenario and says: “Infidelity is considered taboo around the world, but there are many aspects. Cheating or the will to cheat is not the only reason people engage in extramarital affairs, incidents such as negligence, domestic violence, loneliness, etc. are just a few of the many reasons that lead to it.”
It’s natural to get bored in a relationship at some point. After a period of time, people look for changes and experiment with their preferences. Loneliness also causes people to choose someone besides their partner, maybe someone who understands them better.
2 communication gap
It is important to communicate in any relationship, especially in a marriage. No relationship is perfect, but it can be made through communication. Sharing thoughts, listening to your partner, and making small changes can sometimes spark a spark. But with our busy life, it becomes a headache to solve these problems.
3 dry spell
Some people become lazy, tired and exhausted. Partners are not always on the same page. When people don’t meet their expectations, they turn to the outside world. Not having a respectful conversation, discussing how both feel about sex and how life has stolen the spark can lead to infidelity. If you don’t meet your partner’s requirements, they will be put off.
4 high end
It’s human nature to expect and be hurt when things don’t go their way. Therefore, the expectation of not getting attention, time, love, nurturing, and intimacy from a partner can negatively affect the tone of the marriage. Sometimes people stop doing things for their partner because of their comfort zone, which tends to make the other unworthy of themselves.
5 Past Relationships
Many people are still reluctant to move on. This leads them to judge their current relationship and partner with their previous one, thereby hurting themselves and not giving them a chance to understand and accept their current partner. People who are forced into marriage also return to their previous partners to whom they are attracted.
6 newbie trends
In this fast-paced world, trends pop up every now and then. Connection culture is one of them and people follow it. Some do it because they aren’t happy in their marriage, while others do it just to be trendy.
Many partners share the same attitude when it comes to having more than one partner and having an open marriage. They accept that one person can fall in love with two or three people and call it an open relationship. They have a level of understanding for each other and see their partner’s decision to have a relationship outside of their marriage as natural.
8 Domestic Violence
Why would anyone be in a relationship where there is no respect. Whether physical or sexual, 8 out of 10 women experience domestic violence, which destroys their self-esteem and affects their mental and physical health. Who wants to be in a dead end? When they cannot accept help from their own family and the judgments of society do not divorce them. Finding someone outside of your marriage is a blessing.
9 Go with the flow
A cozy environment can make people slip without thinking about the consequences. Yes, it’s easy to fall into this trap of being in the moment, not realizing that the entire foundation of your marriage can be derailed. Most people experience it during their office trips, late night stays, parties with old buddies, etc.
10 ‘Sex Addict’
High on drinks? No, just cool. It may sound strange, but people can become addicted to sex, after all, hormones are just chemical juices that move. They are in a position to persistently engage in sexual activity without being able to control themselves. It is a compulsive behavior to watch porn, masturbate uncontrollably and have multiple sexual partners.IANS
