John Calhoun McDowell Jr. (NCDPS)
HICKORY, NC NEWS FROM QUEEN CITY) — A missing person report was issued for a Hickory man after he failed to pick up his wife from the hospital, according to the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.
John Calhoun McDowell Jr., 89, was last seen by his wife and emergency responders at his home on 21st Ave. Drive NE in Hickory.
His wife was taken to Frye Region Medical Center around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, but McDowell never arrived at the hospital. It's unclear where he went, but he has ties to the Asheville and Buncombe County areas.

McDowell is described as a white male, 6'1″ tall and 205 pounds. He has blue eyes and medium-length blond-gray hair. There is no description of his clothing.
He has a silver 2023 Honda CR-V SUV with the NC license plate BFJ1476.
