Deputies discover lacking individual secure – Midland County Legal Transcript, February 26

The following list contains recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by reporter Collin Periatt.

Thursday February 24th

10:58 p.m. – Deputies responded to State Department of Natural Resources land in Hope Township to report a suspicious situation. MPs could not enter the country due to impassable road conditions for patrol cars. Nothing suspicious was heard or seen by the deputies. The information was handed over to the DNR.

10:11 p.m. – A deputy reported to the emergency room about a dog bite. A 9-year-old boy was bitten by his family dog. A notice of separation was sent to the dog owner.

9:46 p.m. – A deputy spoke to a 58-year-old man from Jerome Township about the disappearance of his 58-year-old wife. The woman was found unharmed.

9:30pm – An MP stood by at a residence in Warren Township while a man received his belongings. The civil readiness proceeded without incident.

8:20 p.m. – During a traffic stop near Waldo Avenue and Beech Street, officers determined the suspect was driving with a suspended driver’s license.

6:11 p.m. – Officers are investigating a suspicious situation on Mill Street.

5:41pm – A MP got in touch with a Greendale Township woman who said a suspicious man had come to her home for the past two days, claiming he was off charter and collecting payment of her bill. The woman said she wanted the incident documented. She was advised to call 911 if the man returned.

2:59 p.m. – Officials are investigating a suspicious situation on Eastman Avenue.

12:46pm – MPs have been sent to a Midland townhouse for an eviction. They tried to contact the resident, a 55-year-old woman, and her 58-year-old boyfriend, but to no avail. A deputy has spoken to management and will continue to attempt to resolve the eviction matter with tenants.

12pm – MPs and officers from the Midland Police Department have been sent to a Midland fast food restaurant over a mental health court order. The petitioner arranged a meeting with the accused and informed the sheriff’s office and police of the time and place of the meeting. Deputies were able to transport the 30-year-old defendant to MyMichigan Medical Center without incident.

11:36 a.m. – Officers are investigating a suspicious situation on Ronan Street.

7:08 am – Deputies were dispatched to a Homer Township store to retrieve a man in a vehicle with a possible medical problem. On the way to the store, MPs were informed by EMS that they were no longer needed as the suspect refused medical treatment.

2:27 a.m. – Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police urged deputies to be on the lookout for a senior blue Pontiac Grand Prix over a suspicious situation in Isabella County. Deputy and the Midland Police checked various roads in Midland County and did not find the vehicle
