Dorset Police officers were joined by crews from Wyke Regis and Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team to locate the man after a social care emergency call was reported.
Teams searched the area around Weymouth Pier at 11am on Tuesday, October 3, in an attempt to locate the man but were unsuccessful.
Investigations are still ongoing to track down the man.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We received a report of concern about the welfare of a man in Weymouth at around 11am on Tuesday, October 3.”
“Officers attended and carried out searches in the area with support from the UK Coast Guard. Investigations are still ongoing to locate the man.”
A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: “HM Coastguard assisted Dorset Police with the search for a missing person on October 3 and was alerted at around 1.15pm.
“Coastguard rescue teams from Wyke Regis and Portland Bill and an all-weather lifeboat from Weymouth were sent to carry out a search. Teams were withdrawn at around 4.30pm pending further information.”
