contributed: STOLEN BIKES The California Highway Patrol, along with other local law enforcement agencies, have recovered over two dozen stolen bicycles, including this $3,000 e-bike.
A man whose e-bike was stolen recently tracked it to a residence in Watsonvlle using a GPS device he had attached.
He called the police to help him get the bike back and when they entered they found a total of 25 stolen bikes.
Watsonville police spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said the man was helping at a community event in Watsonville in February when his e-bike was stolen.
On Friday, Santa Cruz Auto Theft Reduction (a multi-agency task force consisting of the California Highway Patrol, Watsonville Police Department, Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, DMV Investigations and the Santa Cruz District Attorney's Office) executed a search warrant at the residence.
Investigators seized more than 25 bicycles there. Additionally, one of the recovered bikes, valued at over $3,000, was returned to its rightful owner.
