But after no evidence of a kidnapping was found, the police changed course.

“Our investigation revealed that there were no armed robberies or kidnappings in DeKalb County.

“The whereabouts of two-year-old J'asiah Mitchell are still unknown. At this time, the East Point Police Department will be the lead investigative agency.”

J'Asiah's father arrested

J'Asiah Mitchell's father was arrested for making a false report about his son's kidnapping.

Artavious North, 23, is charged with making false statements and falsely reporting a crime when he claimed his son had been kidnapped during an armed robbery.

However, police found no evidence of a kidnapping and North has since been arrested based on his claim.
