HONOLULU (KHON2) — Saturday was a busy day for first responders: Ocean Safety rescued several people around Oahu and HFD and HPD officers continued the search for a missing man near Lanai Lookout.

Both Ocean Safety and HFD responded to a missing person report near Lanai Lookout in Hawaii Kai. Ocean Safety responded to the call around 8:15 a.m. and the fire department responded shortly after, around 8:22 a.m

Ocean Safety lifeguards reportedly searched the ocean on jet skis while HFD rescue divers searched underwater, both searching within a 500-yard grid pattern.
The United States Coast Guard also assisted in the search and conducted an aerial search of the ocean and the coast.

After spending all day searching, HFD and Ocean Safety concluded search operations at 4 p.m. Saturday and will resume the search at dawn on Sunday.
