Thanks to a local ice cream truck, you won't have to guess when looking for icy treats this summer.
The Edmonton Ice Cream Truck is part of the latest expansion of a British Columbia-based company that offers GPS tracking for all of its trucks.
“We took a classic business model and added this layer of technology to bring it into the 21st century,” says Edmonton-based owner and operator Isaac Porteous.
Anyone looking for something sweet can scan SMS notifications using a QR code or find out about the trucks' locations on the company's website.
“The response has been great. You experience excitement every day at Level 10,” said Porteous. “That's what's special about this job.”
Not only are the trucks easy to find, but they also offer local treats like Little Bear Gelato and Sweet Stix Ice Pops, and a portion of the proceeds are donated to the Children's Heart Society.
