Police attach GPS tracking device to militant ally in B'gam – The Kashmir Horizon

Srinagar: Following the directions of the competent court, Budgam police on Saturday managed to put a GPS tracking ankle bracelet on militant member Mudasir Fayaz, who is accused of helping the militants in the valley, in case FIR No: 150 of 2022 under Sections 18, 23, 38 and 39 of UAPA, 7/25 of Arms Act at Chadoora Police Station.
A statement from the Srinagar Regional Police Headquarters said the use of GPS tracking devices in high-profile cases demonstrates the law enforcement agencies' commitment to public safety. Moreover, these devices will enable the authorities to closely monitor the movements of high-risk offenders, thereby significantly reducing the likelihood of further criminal activities.
In the concluding paragraph of the statement quoted above, the police said that fitting the GPS tracking bracelets to the accused would ensure that their movements could be tracked in real time and their entry into prohibited areas or their exit from the geographical boundaries specified in the court order could be monitored.
