Kern County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue searching for missing person in Kern River

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Sheriff's officers were seen at the Delonegha Day Use site on the Kern River Saturday afternoon attempting to locate a person.

On July 6, an air unit and several officers from the Kern County Sheriff's Office were patrolling the Kern River after a young person jumped into the water. At around 3 p.m., witnesses at the Delonegha Day Use Campground reported that officers approached them and asked if they had seen a young person jump into the water.

The condition of the victim, whom officers attempted to locate, is currently unknown.
