OKMULKE EKVNTVCKV – On August 8, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police Department, with drone support from the MCN UAS Special Operation Squadron (MNUSOS), located a missing and in danger person near Wilson.
According to the MCN Lighthorse Police Department, the MCN Lighthorse Emergency Response Team (LH ERT), together with MNUSOS, established a command post in the area where the person was last seen and began a search on foot, also using all-terrain vehicles and drones.
The individual was found by officers and the UAS in a wooded area. The individual sustained minor injuries but was in stable condition and was transported to a hospital by Okmulgee County EMS.
In a public statement, the MCN LPD said: “The MNUSOS is relieved that the missing person has been found. The MNUSOS also asks the public to report any suspicious behavior by anyone. This could save a life.”
According to the National Institute of Justice According to the 2024 Mid-Year Report, Oklahoma ranks 2nd in the nation for missing American Indian/Alaska Native cases. Oklahoma is also in the top 10 nationally for unsolved missing persons cases and in the top 10 for unidentified American Indian/Alaska Native cases.
