“Skiptrace” tops the Chinese cinema charts – Culture

“Skiptrace,” starring Jackie Chan, shot to the top of China’s box office charts, grossing 408 million yuan ($61.2 million) in its debut weekend, China Film News reported Tuesday.

Warner Bros.' “The Legend of Tarzan,” starring Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie, took second place in Chinese cinemas with sales of 182 million yuan in its first week.

“Cold War II” fell to third place after two weeks at the top. The domestic film has grossed 650 million yuan since its release on July 8.

Domestic animation film “Big Fish & Chinese Flowering Crabapple” ranked fourth with revenue of 73 million yuan last week. It has grossed 536 million yuan since July 8.

Rounding out the top five is the family romance “Larry and Mary,” which has grossed 172 million yuan since its theatrical release on July 15.
