Cook County Felon in custody after escape and manipulation with GPS tracking device: Sheriff

A criminal from Cook County is back into custody and is re -charged after the escape of his house and manipulating his electronic surveillance device, the authorities said on Friday.

What we know:

The 37 -year -old Jerome Wade was arrested after an outstanding arrest warrant on March 24 due to violation of his electronic surveillance conditions.

He removed his GPS tracking device and fled from his residence, which asked the Cook County Sheriff's office to declare him as a refugee.

The investigators later received a tip about Wades location in Chicago, where he was arrested.

What's next:

In addition to the break -in fees from a non -related incident, Wade is now charged due to escape costs and violation of electronic surveillance.

He is currently being held in the Cook County prison.
