Coimbatore: The Southern Bank of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has led the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) to ensure that all sewage and sewage pitch cleaners who work in the city are equipped with GPS tracking devices within three months.
The guideline takes place under persistent symptoms of residents of Ukkadam and Angu Nagar via bad odor and health risks caused by improper waste management.
The tribunal conquered Suo Motu reports published in December 2023, in which the public protest was highlighted before the CCMC headquarters. The residents called for the shift of the wastewater treatment plant in Ukkadam and responsible for unbearable stench and unsanitary diseases.
In his most recent command, the judge Justice Pushpa Sathyanarayana and the expert member Sathyagopal said that the core problem lies in non -authorized wastewater tankers, the untreated waste in open areas, not in the treatment plant itself. The bank decided that the resettlement of the facility was unnecessary, but emphasized the need for stricter surveillance and infrastructure -upgrades.
The bourgeois organization was also instructed to complete the pending wastewater infrastructure within six months and to strictly enforce the rules for fixed waste in 2016. In addition, the practice of dumping construction waste, sand and plastic waste must be completely stopped in open rooms.
