Nigerian actor Timini Egbuson has responded to claims made by his ex-girlfriend that he was trying to damage her reputation.
Lydia Balogun, the actor’s estranged friend, had accused him of infidelity.
She went to her Instagram account to accuse him of targeting teenage girls for relationships.
According to her, the actor is a predator, a cradle snap and a pervert.
She had said: “When I met this man, I had no idea about his sexual past or who he was dealing with, I didn’t know anyone in his social circle and now I know that this is also intentional.
“When he told me that he was going to make an exception for me even though I was so young (I was like 19), I actually believed it and thought,” Wow, he must really like me. “
In response, Timini said in a statement on his Twitter page that all of the women he dated were older than the legal age of consent.
According to him, his relationship with his ex was not working due to mistakes on both sides.
“First of all, I would like to make it absolutely clear that I will not tolerate advertising or having a relationship with people who are not yet of legal age. Rumors are rumors, but the baseless accusation of sexual abuse or caring for an underage woman is something I don’t take lightly, given the severity of the problem.
“Lydia and I were together two years ago, we were both consenting adults and our families knew and accepted each other. Our relationship didn’t work out due to circumstances we were both at fault that led to our split.
“Our relationship was fickle and mistakes were made on both sides. Nevertheless, I learned from it and moved on. I would like to leave this chapter of my life behind and wish her all the best. “
