Cicero, NY – A missing 85-year-old man was found safe Tuesday morning after an alert Central New York driver spotted him on Interstate 81, police said.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the motorist traveling north on I-81 near Cicero called 911 after recognizing the Rochester-area man’s car.

The man – Fred Bekasinski of Fairport – was located by police.

The sheriff’s office issued a missing person alert late Monday. They said Bekasinski was disoriented and confused and may need medical attention.

Roadside signs in central and western New York alerted people to look for the missing man and his car, a gray 2018 Mazda 3 with JDB-7783 license plates.
