FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas police arrested a man who is accused of chasing an exotic dancer and putting a GPS tracker on her car before finally following her and killing her as she passed through Fort last month Worth drove.

Stanley Frank Szeliga, 54, is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Abigail “Abby” Saldaña on October 26th. On Thursday morning, Szeliga was in the Tarrant County Jail instead of bail for $ 250,000.

Saldaña’s family told the Fort Worth news media that the young mother was terrified in the weeks leading up to her death. She feared someone was following her and posted on Instagram that she had found the tracker on her car.

“I told her to go to the police and report it,” Saldaña’s mother Jessica Contreras told Fox 4 in Dallas. “I think she reported that.”

Fort Worth police officers confirmed that Saldaña reported finding the tracker, according to the news channel.

Saldaña was found dead in the car. She had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The affidavit obtained by the Law & Crime Network states that three shots were fired through Saldaña’s car.

“Detective Galloway and I found three grenades and broken glass at the intersection of Amon Carter Boulevard and State Hwy. 183, believed to have been shot before entering the freeway, as the 911 operator testified, ”wrote Dickerson.

The detectives found clothing in Saldaña’s vehicle that “matched those of exotic dancers,” the document says. They could see Rick’s cabaret from where Saldaña’s car stopped on the highway.

When they went to Ricks and asked about Saldaña, the manager confirmed that she worked there.

“The manager went on to explain that Abigail was recently molested by a customer of Rick’s whom the manager only knew as Stan,” the affidavit read.

Stan was a military veteran, but that was all the manager knew about the client.

The manager showed the Instagram account of the detectives Saldaña, on which she posted on October 14th that she had found a GPS tracker hidden in her vehicle.

“Look under your car ladies!” read the post. “This is not a joke and sometimes you think it will never be you!”

According to Dickerson, Ricks’ manager told investigators that Saldaña was afraid of Stan, who followed and harassed her. The mother of the woman killed told KFDX-TV in Wichita Falls that her daughter also took photos of the alleged stalker’s truck to hand over to the police.

The Rick’s manager also showed the detectives several Instagram posts on the client’s account in which Stan was annoyed with Saldaña and wrote that he would report her to the police for prostitution.

About three hours before the murder, Stan posted a screenshot on Instagram showing that he had at some point paid Saldaña $ 3,000, the affidavit said. The customer appeared to post the picture as evidence of his prostitution claims.

The screenshot contained the man’s address, which went back to Szeliga. The manager was able to provide the customer’s cell phone number, which also goes back to Szeliga.

While doing research on Szeliga, detectives learned that he owned a red Ford F-150. Dickerson said a license plate reader picked up the truck at 8:22 p.m. at an intersection near Saldaña’s house, just minutes before the shooting was reported.

Saldaña’s silver Hyundai was spotted at the intersection minutes before she died. Szeliga’s truck was seconds behind the limo.

In addition to these sightings, Szeliga’s truck was sighted five times by license plate readers in the weeks leading up to the murder.

Dickerson called Szeliga for an interview the day after Saldaña’s death, but he didn’t show up as promised. The detective received a search warrant for Szeliga’s house, where a SWAT team found him with self-inflicted wounds, including a wound on his neck.

The cuts have mostly been superficial, according to the Wichita Falls Times Record News.

Saldaña’s family described her as a good daughter, sister, and mother. She leaves behind a 5 year old son.

Contreras also told KFDX-TV that her daughter was brave.

“Thanks for Abby taking a picture of the license plate when she found out she was being followed; and we got in, and I drew the license plate, the name and everything I needed, “she told the broadcaster. “She was a kind person, a hard worker. Wasn’t afraid.
