While Xiaomi’s “Redmi” brand has always focused on providing users with more affordable technology without compromising too much on specifications, the new Redmi Watch 3 seems to go one step further and give users a better reason for one this time to give an upgrade. The new wearable offers some nice upgrades, especially when compared to its predecessor.
On the front is a 1.75-inch AMOLED display surrounded by a glossy metal construction that Xiaomi says is built with NCVM technology. This is a nice design change compared to the Redmi Watch 2 which was mainly made out of plastic. One similarity, however, is that the watch still maintains a square design, similar to other wearables like the Apple Watch line of devices. The watch comes in black and ivory variants and features 200 built-in dials for added customizability.
Other watch features include built-in GPS tracking, 121 sport modes, blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate and sleep tracking, and 5 ATM water resistance. Xiaomi adds that the watch can last up to 12 days on a single charge and even includes a built-in speaker and noise-cancelling microphone for Bluetooth calls when paired with your smartphone.
The watch was announced together with the new devices of the Redmi Note 12 series and costs 199 euros.
