Mymensingh, August 21, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh Agricultural University (Bau) In Mymensingh, has introduced an online requirements and GPS tracking system to modernize and reduce the bare bones of its transport services.
Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university professor Dr. AK Fazlul Hoque Bhuiyan opened this facility at this noon.
He thanked the ICT cell and everyone concerned about their innovative contribution to the well -being of the university and said that the initiative had marked a new milestone for the transport services of construction.
The director of the ICT cell from Bau, Prof. MD Rostam Ali, explained the details of the initiative to the students.
He said that teachers, officials and employees of the university can now need vehicles through their institutional management profile from ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) without any problems.
“The system shows vehicle numbers, driver names and availability in real time so that users can book vehicles with just one click,” added the ICT cell officer.
The software for the requirement process was fully developed by the university's ICT cell in accordance with the requirements of the transport section.
In the meantime, the GPS tracking component with 20 devices was implemented, which were previously bought by the Agricultural Cluster Admission Committee to secure examination documents. Instead of staying idle, the devices are now being implemented for the transport service.
Four long-distance buses are currently equipped with GPS trackers, and the facility is gradually extended to all university vehicles after approval of the authorities.
The system is accessible via Android and iOS platforms, with which the real-time tracking of vehicles and the quick identification of locations can be made possible during accidents or emergencies.
VC Prof. AK Fazlul Hoque Bhuiyan joined the inauguration ceremony as the main guest, while the consultant for student affairs Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidul Haque as the special guest of the director of the transport department of Bau Prof. Dr. Md. Gulzarul Aziz was present at the chair.
