Below Deck’s Captain Kerry is accused of hiding money and quitting his job to avoid paying alimony from his ex-wife in a nasty divorce

BELOW Deck star Captain Kerry Titheradge has been accused of hiding money and quitting his job to avoid child support payments as part of his nasty divorce.

Captain Kerry, 47, stars in Below Deck Adventure, the first season of which is currently airing on Bravo.

The US Sun can exclusively discuss the captain’s divorce from his ex-wife, with whom he has two children.

In court documents obtained by The US Sun, Kerry filed for divorce from his then-wife in October 2019, claiming the marriage had “irretrievably broken down.”

The couple married in November 2012.

He demands “shared parental responsibility” for their two children.

The Bravo star also called for the sale of their four-bedroom, three-bathroom Palm Beach Gardens home, which they ultimately sold in June 2020 for $485,000, and for the proceeds to be divided according to their ownership interest.

The ex-wife responded in November 2019, opposing his request to sell the marital home and demanding that it remain in her possession.

She claimed the split was “imminent” as they still live in the same house.

She agreed that the ex-partners had “a shared responsibility for the two children” but asked the court to “consider the husband’s actions to quit his job before he filed his application for dissolution of the marriage in order to “To create the appearance that he is capable of doing so, exercise a significant amount of time allocation.”

As for alimony, she requested in court papers: “The woman needs alimony to bridge the gap between married and single life.”

“The woman does not have the means to support herself fully without this assistance and hereby requests such transitional maintenance taking into account the circumstances.”

Factors include “the standard of living achieved during the marriage,” “the length of the marriage,” “the wife’s contribution to housework, childcare, career development, and education,” “the responsibilities the wife has in relation to the Marriage will have “underage children” and more.

She also reminded the court again that he was “voluntarily unemployed.”

She is asking for permanent alimony that ends when he or she dies, because without this support she “does not have the means to fully support herself.”

The ex accused him of “making large withdrawals from marital accounts shortly before filing for divorce.”

She also claimed that she was unable to pay the legal fees but that her ex-husband was “well able to do so.”

KERRY FIGHTS BACK

In Kerry’s response, he disputed her claims that he had voluntarily quit his job.

He also rejected her requests for maintenance.

The reality star denied allegations that he made large withdrawals before filing for divorce.

Their affidavits list Kerry’s annual income as a Navy firefighter and security guard at $139,000, while his ex-wife’s is $33,989.

She claimed her total assets were $662,539.16 and her debts were $246,808.75.

He listed her assets at $685,343.37 and her debts at $249,699.

MAKE COMPROMISES

According to the parenting plan, the parties agreed on joint custody of the children.

Kerry will have 182 overnight stays per year, while his ex-wife will have 183.

When the agreement was submitted, both parties waived their right to alimony.

The parties agreed to sell the house and split the proceeds in the amount of $100,000 each.

But Kerry was ordered to pay his ex $12,982 from the house sale and another $14,000.

He was ordered to pay $650 a month in child support for both children.

The divorce was officially finalized in September 2020.

Captain Kerry has since moved on as he posts with his new girlfriend Gönül Bihan, who was his former chief stew.
