Bishnoi Gang: Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Targets Businessmen Using GPS Tracking Devices | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police team deployed to Delhi will investigate potential targets of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested seven sharpshooters, including one from Hanumangarh. Several businessmen in Bikaner, Sriganganagar and surrounding areas have received similar threats to Sunil Pehalwan, the nephew of former MP Rajkumar Gaur, who was allegedly targeted for assassination by the gang.
The Sriganganagar police team led by Inspector Devendra Rathore was sent to Delhi after it emerged that the seven sharpshooters were planning to kill Pehalwan. According to initial information from the Sriganganagar police, the shooters had planned an assassination attempt. Sources said they conducted reconnaissance tours on two separate occasions to collect information about Pehalwan's daily life and movements.
The shooters observed his daily routes, schedules and any security precautions he took. To ensure they could track him accurately and strike at the right moment, they installed a GPS tracking device on Pehalwan's car. This allowed them to monitor his location in real time, allowing them to find a suitable, less conspicuous place to carry out the murder.
Pehalwan lodged an FIR with the Sriganganagar police after receiving threats from Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, on October 28 last year. In his complaint, he stated that an unknown caller contacted him through a WhatsApp call and identified himself as Anmol Bishnoi. Police suspect that Pehalwan was not the gang's only target.
Like Pehalwan, many businessmen including jewelers in Bikaner, Jhunjhunu and other districts have also received threats. Although FIRs were registered by the victims, the police struggled to solve these cases or arrest the callers. The calls are often made via WhatsApp from international numbers that police say are difficult to trace.
Sriganganagar police are also investigating reports of arms smuggling from Pakistan across the border. Sources indicate that sophisticated weapons are being supplied to organized crime networks, including the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, to support their illegal activities.
During a separate investigation, Mumbai Police recently arrested Bhagwant Omsingh and Ramphool Kanojia while probing the murder of former MLA and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui. The two suspects revealed that three foreign-made weapons used in the crime came from Pakistan and were smuggled into India through the Rajasthan border.
