WALKER, Michigan (WOOD) – A body was found in the Grand River in Grandville, days after a man went underwater Tuesday and couldn’t come out, according to authorities.
The Walker Police Department said just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday that it had received a report of a body found in the water near the Indian Mounds boat launch in Grandville.
The body matched the man’s description Drowning report on Tuesday. The body was taken to the Kent County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. According to the WPD, their names will be released upon notification of the family.
Two people in a canoe late Tuesday morning reported seeing the man disappear into the water near the Johnson Park boat launch in Walker, just north of Wilson Avenue. The emergency services reacted energetically and searched until nightfall without success.
