Braves’ Marcell Ozuna “Threatened to Kill Lady in Infidelity Dispute”: Report

New details about the arrest of Atlanta Braves star Marcell Ozuna emerged Tuesday, and a report said the veteran outfielder threatened to kill his wife in an argument for “infidelity.”

In a Sandy Springs Police Department booking report obtained from TMZ Sports, Ozuna’s wife, Genesis Guzman, claims the row started over the weekend when Ozuna “took both phones out of the bathroom while showering without her consent.”

He refused to return her and allegedly “threatened to kill her”.

According to the report, she picked up his phone and called the police, but followed him outside. She went back inside and grabbed a “large kitchen knife” for protection while the two continued arguing.

A statement from Sandy Springs Police Department said officers entered the house where the front door was open and heard screams from inside. The officers said they saw Ozuna grab his wife by the neck and throw her against a wall, and additionally hit her with a plaster cast on his injured left hand.

Ozuna was arrested and on Monday he was given $ 20,000 bail for aggravated strangulation and assault against his wife.

Ozuna could face a long suspension from Major League Baseball, which plans to review the matter under the joint domestic violence policy between the MLB and the players’ union.
