Cheryl Burke factors out infidelity led to Matthew Lawrence’s divorce

Hell has no anger like a despised woman.

It looks like Cheryl Burke is one of those despised women, and now she’s spilling breakup tea.

Earlier this year, the Dancing with the Stars coach filed for divorce from the Boy Meets World actor. Matthew Lawrence.

According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, on February 18, 2022, she filed for a dissolution of the marriage in the Los Angeles County courts.

The famous former couple tied the knot on May 23, 2019, ending their relationship in less than 3 years. The couple reportedly started dating in 2017, but met in 2006 after Lawrence’s brother – Joey – was cast on DWTS. The couple dated for a few years after meeting them, but got back together in 2017 and eventually married.

Lawrence proposed to Burke on May 3, 2018, on her 34th birthday.

At the time of their divorce, it was unclear what was happening in the couple’s relationship that led to the divorce. Burke cited “irreconcilable differences” as the legal reason for their divorce.

Now it looks like the reason, or at least Burke’s reason, for the divorce has been revealed.

The dance pro uploaded a video to TikTok with a not-so-subtle message about scammers.

Burke stared at the camera without makeup and shook his head.

“When he said he would never speak to her again, I found text messages, Viagra and a necklace hidden in a pair of his shoes,” read the overlay writing.

The video was paired with Adele’s song “When We Were Young.”

“Oh Cheryl I’m so sorry 🥺 You just need to know that you’re doing what’s best for you… it’s going to be alright ❤,” wrote one fan.

“Spilling 👏 the 👏 tea 👏” and “Shots fired!” read other comments.

One person defended the situation, writing: “Just because she shared this doesn’t mean it was Matthew but it could be likely, don’t make any assumptions! She just gave us tea that we never knew we needed.”

Another wrote: “Didn’t they get divorced in January why are people saying it’s Mathew?”

Fans are divided over the meaning behind their message

Other fans showed support and encouraged her to remember how strong she is.

Lawrence has never issued a statement or commented on their divorce.

Burke, on the other hand, has been open about her mental health journey amid the breakup and divorce.

She took a trip to the same place she and Lawrence got married in 2019, the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, to reflect and recharge.

Of course she brought her little French bulldog, Ysabella.

At the time of her trip, she wrote on Instagram: “To take a few days alone to introspect, reflect and really try to feel my feelings – with my accomplice of course ♥️. I think it’s important to remember that I’m very fortunate to be able to stop and take this time for myself. As much as I’m going through personally, it’s nothing compared to the suffering I’m going through in Ukraine right now. If you haven’t already, please visit the link in my description to see how you can help.”

On Monday, March 7, she followed up on her statement about being alone to explain the impact it has had on her mental health.

“I’ve realized that whenever I’m at a point in my life where I’m trying to process major emotions, the best thing I can do is spend some alone time – except with Ysa of course, but I really feel like she’s a part of.” me, so it doesn’t count,” she began with a three-page note.

“To be honest, really feeling my feelings is new to me. I’ve spent my entire life numbing them up to this point and I’m learning that actually going through them is MUCH harder. There’s an obvious reason it’s difficult — that the feelings I’m experiencing right now are complicated and not exactly happy,” Burke admitted. “But the less-obvious reason is that I find I tend to judge my own feelings, and when I’m around other people that intensifies. I’m as focused on other people’s perceptions as I am with.” bypassing my emotions – which in turn leads me to question whether I’m feeling things “right.” I know I shouldn’t be doing this, but I also know I can’t be the only person doing this.”

Burke ended her message with some words of wisdom.

“I think all of this means that the best thing for me was to really experience my feelings, whatever they might be, to be alone for a few days. I would really encourage everyone else out there to try and not feel guilty about needing that space,” she wrote.
