Baby P’s mother is said to be released within weeks.

Tracey Connelly, 40, will be attending a parole hearing and has promised to stay away from drugs and alcohol, insiders say.

She must agree to take a polygraph test to prove she will not relapse.

She is also under 24-hour GPS tracking, reports the Daily Star.

A source said: “Connelly has said she will do whatever is asked of her to win freedom.

“She took psychology classes in prison to solve her crimes and believes that this time she will be successful.

“Tracey is ready to wear a label 24/7, stay sober, and provide details on any relationships she builds. She will also be happy to take polygraph tests.”

Her fourth parole hearing is due to take place in the fall. If her bid is unsuccessful, she will remain behind bars until 2023.

Documents from her last failed hearing in 2019 identified risk factors including “failure to cope with certain aspects of her personality” and “alcohol abuse and illicit drug use”.

Connelly was jailed for the first time in 2009 after admitting causing or permitting the death of 17-month-old son Peter.

She was recalled in 2015 for selling indecent pictures of herself to perverts after her first release in 2013.

In March, the tragic toddler’s stepfather was denied parole and was told he must remain in maximum security prison for refusing to face his crimes.

Steven Barker, 44, was jailed in 2007 for “causing or allowing the death of a child” after Peter Connelly died of horrific injuries at the age of 17 months.

The decision was made after the panel heard evidence from psychiatrists and prison officials who said the unrepentant Barker failed to satisfy his disgusting urges, it is reported.

Barker’s risk factors included “the effects of past life experiences on him, his ability to become sexually aroused towards very young children, his inability to control extreme emotions, and his difficulties in relationships,” the panel was told, according to the Sun.
