Claims firm Sedgwick has appointed Mandy Yousif as head of investigative services in Canada.
Ontario-based Yousif will lead Sedgwick’s new research and intelligence division for Canada.
Sedgwick’s Research and Intelligence department enables its team of certified professionals to provide services such as due diligence investigations, pre-trial civil and criminal evidence gathering, asset recovery and recourse, trademark research, social media investigations and skip tracing. They work closely with clients – including law firms, financial institutions, insurance agencies, multinationals and regulators – to ensure all aspects of investigations are covered and that information is protected and competently documented.
“Mandy has worked on a wide range of high-profile criminal cases and notable mergers and acquisitions,” commented Rob Ginn, Sedgwick’s senior vice president for Ontario, in a press release. “Her experience working with Canada’s leading litigators and her natural ability to build trust with clients in complex investigations make her an excellent fit for this new role at Sedgwick.”
Yousif has nearly a decade of experience in investigation, compliance information and risk assessment consulting services. She has specific expertise in due diligence inquiries, financial investigations and asset recovery, online and social media investigations, trademark and intellectual property research, and skip tracing (the process of locating an individual’s whereabouts).
Yousif is also a licensed private investigator since 2012 and holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in criminology and sociology from the University of Western Ontario in London. Yousif is bilingual in English and Arabic and holds a certificate in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) from Toddington International Inc., a government accredited educational institution in Canada and a provincially licensed investigative firm in BC
Earlier this month, Steven Saarimaki joined Sedgwick’s Canadian operations as executive general adjuster for the major and complex claims department. A licensed independent insurance adjuster in Ontario, Saarimaki has 28 years of claims adjustment experience with expertise in the marine, industrial and commercial property, marine and liability lines of business.
