Canada Day in Downtown Kelowna (July 1, 2024)
It was a team effort on Canada Day.
On Monday afternoon, members of the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Kelowna Fire Department were called to search for a missing person with Down syndrome.
The missing person was lost in a large crowd in the city center during the celebrations.
“They were found safe and sound two and a half hours later,” COSAR said in an update on Facebook.
The COSAR boat crew will assist with the Canada Day fireworks celebration on Monday evening, which is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.
