Court orders Stepukonis to wear GPS tracking device

According to the court's ruling, Stepukonis will be released from the detention center after spending almost a month and a half there.

On Friday, the suspect was taken to the Financial Crimes Investigation Service (FNTT) headquarters in Vilnius.

The court granted the prosecutor's request to attach the GPS device to Stepukonis' leg and keep it there until June 20.

According to the information available to Elta, Stepukonis is constantly being questioned. He is cooperating with law enforcement and has not appealed his arrest or its extension. His lawyer argues that the pre-trial detention was unjustified.

Stepukonis was arrested on February 10th. Two days later, the court remanded him in custody for 14 days and then extended his detention for another month, until March 24. He has not contested any of the prison sentences and has not appealed to a higher court.
