Vijayawada: Well-known Tollywood actor and former SVBC chairman Balireddy Prudhviraj has to pay his wife B. Sri Lakshmi Rs 8 lakh per month in maintenance. A family court in Vijayawada ordered the actor to pay child support.

It is recalled that Prudhviraj’s wife Lakshmi, who is from Vijayawada city, went to court on January 10, 2017 and received Rs. 10 lakh alimony from her husband. He married her in 1984 and they have two children.

Sri Lakshmi mentioned that Prudhviraj left her and she was living with her parents who had spent huge sums for Prudhviraj’s growth.

She also pointed out that Prudhviraj stayed at his maternal home in Vijayawada and sought work in films and series on screen. After being employed as an actor in various films, he moved to Hyderabad City and started torturing her and removed her from his home in 2016.

Apparently upset by Prudhviraj’s attitude, Sri Lakshmi came to her hometown and approached the court to seek alimony. Sri Lakshmi stated in her petition that Prudhviraj earns up to Rs. 30 lakh a month and requested alimony by showing his proof of income.

As the actor failed to appear at the court hearings, the 14th Additional District Court, known as the Family Court, issued an ex parte judgment in Sri Lakshmi’s favor in June 2017. He later appealed to the court that he could not pay his wife’s child support and sought relief.

Based on the statements, the supporting documents and a detailed investigation, Family Court Judge Indira Priyadarshini upheld the previous order and ordered the actor to pay his wife Rs 8,000 a month in alimony. The judge also mentioned that the ruling is effective as of January 2017 and ordered the actor to pay old fees from the day the case was filed.
