Welcome to Hear & There, a collaborative event from Crate Mates (Aus) x Skiptrace (UK) where you'll find a melting pot of groovy and experimental sounds from both cities merging into an evening of sonic bliss at The Jago ~ October 28th!
We have carefully put together an exhibition with artists from home and abroad to accompany you throughout the evening. Meron T, Nikodimos, Ruby Cesan, Don Glori and Loshh provide live vibes. We are truly blessed to be able to bring some of the best emerging artists from the UK and Australia/New Zealand to Dalston. Expect lush, soulful vibes from Meron T & Ruby Cesan, they're on either side of Nikodimous – who's set to make a splash with his eclectic live sets full of jazz, experimental hip-hop and ambient tones. Don Glori will lead us towards midnight with his patented kaleidoscopic fusion of jazz and funk, underpinned by a soulful Latin backbone. Our final (but by no means the last) live act of the evening is Loshh, whose combination of Afro-psychedelic, punk, rock and jazz is nothing short of eye-opening – their appearance on KEXP radio helped put them on the map, and It was also a long-time favorite of ours.
Interspersed between the live acts, we have a group of carefully selected selectors who will keep you on your toes throughout the night and ensure connection between the live acts. To kick things off, bratmode, Acid Chess Club b2b Skiptrace and Mee-Hawl will set the tone with delicious mixes of jazz and RnB-influenced downtempo, electro and disco. Mon, one of our favorite DJs on the world famous Foundation FM, will be taking us beyond midnight on the 28th, providing a hefty dose of good vibes with his masterful mix of UKG and Dancehall riddims. Finally we have Trip to Navu. Born in a small country town called Ballarat, this brother duo captures one of our favorite moments in the memory of one of our curators (Acid Chess Club) when the Cookie brothers were closing out a little festival called 'Hopkins Creek', if there is such a thing, you can be left with otherworldly Expect dance music and absolute chaos to be exported from Dalston into the stratosphere!
