Custody battle in unity; Car fireplace close to Landis, throughout Regular Week for Unity & Space RCMP

The RCMP Unity, Wilkie and Macklin departments have released their combined report for the week of November 24-30.

In the unit:

– The officers received a complaint about a person who made threats. The officers visited the scene but could not find sufficient evidence to proceed.

– Members spoke to one person about an arrest warrant.

– The officers were informed of a theft but could not find enough evidence to conduct a full investigation.

– The police acted as mediators during a family quarrel.

– Officers received a complaint about a disturbance of the peace. This matter is still under investigation.

– Unity also reported two fake 911 calls.

In Wilkie:

– Officers received a report on an abandoned vehicle. The registered owner was contacted and agreed to move the vehicle.

– The police have been informed of a vehicle fire near Landis. The Wilkie fire department was able to extinguish the fire, which was classified as not suspicious.

– Officers received a complaint about an undesirable person in a dormitory that resulted in a 32-year-old Saskatoon man being charged with business failure.

– Wilkie also reported a false positive and a traffic complaint.

Macklin only had two points for the last report. In one case, officials were called in to keep the peace while two people exchanged custody of children. The other point is very similar, as officials have been used as mediators in a custody dispute.
