Dennis Quaid and his ex-wife, Kimberlychange the way they care for their children… and now it’s a more even split.
According to new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Dennis and Kimberly agreed on a 2-week, 2-week break schedule for child custody … with each parent having their twins for 2 weeks each and then swapping.
In the documents, the actor’s ex says that if Dennis is unable to take care of the twins for any reason, she will take care of them and Dennis will pay her $225 per child for each day he misses.
As we first reported … the Divorce Settlement 2018 with Kimberly demanding she get the lion’s share of custody — 75 percent.
The twins are 14 and will start high school in the fall but will go to different schools, so Dennis and Kimberly hatched a plan to get the kids where they need to go.
Doctors say Dennis will pay for a nanny to take the kids to school when Kimberly has the kids, and if the nanny isn’t available on a particular day, Dennis will be responsible for hiring another caretaker to take the Drives kids to school and pays the bill.
The twins were born in Cedars-Sinai in 2007 but faced a serious medical emergency. The nurses at the hospital accidentally gave them 10,000 units of a drug when they were supposed to receive a 10-unit dose. They survived the overdose and the Quaids got one $750,000 comparison from the hospital.
