Dickinson Mom Death: Texas City Police Identify the 24-year-old Angela Leeann Mitchell as a body in the trunk

Texas City, Texas (KTRK) – The Texas City police confirmed the identity of a 24-year-old woman who said friends and family six days ago, but whose body was in a vehicle case on Wednesday.

The police department also announced a reward of up to 5,000 US dollars for information on Thursday, which led to an arrest or indictment in Angela Leeann Mitchell's death.

“She didn't deserve to die,” said her mother Georgia Mitchell. “She didn't deserve someone to take life. She is not a bad person.”

The investigators were led to Mitchell's body after neighbors in the 400 block of the 4th Street North at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. due to a smell from a white Honda called the police who was parked on the street for days, the police said.

The criminal investigations and identifications of the department were proclaimed as soon as the officers discovered the smell from the trunk, which then opened and contained with Mitchell's body.

People who live nearby said that the car had been parked in the same place since Mother's Day.

The cause of the death of the woman remained out of Thursday afternoon.

Before the police released their identity, Mitchell's friends and family of Eyewitness news announced that they reported the mother of four children who were missing on May 6 after not returning to Dickinson the night before.

“It had been 24 hours since my last contact with her,” said Georgia Mitchell. “When I tried to find out why she didn't react to me, it went straight to VoiceMail and I could no longer track her on the locator on our phone calls. I started to make myself sick.”

They had actually followed their location to Texas City on the same day, found their vehicle, but did not see any signs of her.

“I met police officers in her vehicle here in Texas City after submitting a report about missing person and I asked her,” said Georgia Mitchell. “I asked her to search my daughter's car. 'Please search my daughter's car. Please examine this. I asked. I asked the police officers and they just released me.”

She said she didn't suspect that her daughter was in the trunk, but said she found it strange where the car was parked.

Shortly after the police were called to the 4th Street quarter on Wednesday, Mitchell's friends and family said that they were angry that the investigators took too long to take their case seriously.

ABC13 repeatedly turned to Texas City's PD on Thursday to ask how the investigation was going on but was never able to reach someone.

In a police document it says that Mitchell's phone on Thursday, May 5, shortly before 10 p.m. in the division of Lago Mar shortly before 10 p.m. in a house in Lago Mar and has not been active since then.

Mitchell was a mother of four children: a 9-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl and a 7-month-old son.

Georgia Mitchell said her children were too young to understand what is happening. She was upset when she spoke about the 7 -month -old speech that his mother will never know.

“Well, he will know his mom,” said the children's grandmother. “He is because I will make sure. But the fact that he will not remember what kind of wonderful mother he had and how much she loved him – I will make sure he knows.”

The examination of Mitchell's death continues. The Texas City police asked everyone to contact their crime under number 409-643-5720 p3tips.com.
