Early Thursday morning, Illinois state police released a critically endangered missing person notice to one-year-old Jaclyn “Angel” Dobbs of Wheeling, Illinois.

Her mother, Ja’nya Murphy, was found dead Tuesday with the balcony door unlocked, police reported. Officers had received a missing person report for 21-year-old Ja’nya after she had not shown up for work or contacted her family since Monday.

The police ask the population to help find Dobbs, who is in danger. Police have reported that they believe Dobbs was in a maroon 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan with Illinois license plates, and the vehicle was later found in Missouri without the child.

“At this point, we are asking the public for help finding Angel,” Wheeling police said in a statement.

Police announced that they are working with the Serious Crime Support Team in the northwestern suburb to ensure Dobbs’ safe return and to identify and arrest those responsible.

Dobbs is a black kid, 2 feet tall and 24 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Angel’s whereabouts is urged to call the police at 847-459-2690.
