(UPDATE: August 11, 3:20 p.m.) – The missing man the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue Team was searching for in Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park has been found.
In an update to its social media post today, COSAR stated that the individual was located using an RCMP helicopter.
Suffering numerous injuries, he was flown to a waiting ambulance by Penticton Search and Rescue's Helicopter External Transport System team.
“Apparently he was hiking near Buchan Bay late last night and fell,” the post continues.
“We got the call this morning when he didn't return to camp.”
(Original story: August 11, 2:20 p.m.) – The Central Okanagan Search and Rescue Team is currently searching for a missing person in Okanagan Mountain Park.
According to a social media post, the missing man was last seen near Buchan Bay.
COSAR added that the area was being searched by boat, land and bicycle, and that a helicopter team was also on site.
Buchan Bay is one of the provincial park's seven campgrounds accessible by boat and is located in the southwest corner of the park.
