Ex-NFL star, who compelled Stephen Curry’s mom to be sacked over infidelity prices, had an undisclosed childhood relationship with father Dell

Sonya and Dell Curry, the parents of NBA superstar Stephen Curry, made global headlines for all the wrong reasons. The two filed for divorce after both sides alleged infidelity.

While Dell accused Sonya of cheating with a former NFL star, the other side claimed Dell had indulged in infidelity throughout his career. Dell reportedly “accuses Sonya of years of having an extramarital affair with Steven Johnson, who was a Virginia Tech athlete at the same time as the separating couple in the mid-’80s.”

However, Sonya Curry claimed that she lived a long time ago because Dell doesn’t allow her to live at home. Although she also revealed that she was in a dating relationship, Sonya clarified that this was after the two legally separated.

Interestingly, Steven Johnson seems to have a long history with Stephen Curry’s family. Some reports claimed Johnson was a longtime friend of Dell’s.

Dell and Sonya were top athletes for their Virginia Tech college. While Sonya pursued volleyball and also basketball, Dell was obviously a basketball player. After all, he also had a decent career in the NBA.

Interestingly, Steven Johnson happened to attend the same institution as the two. He was also reportedly friends with Stephen Curry’s parents from their college days.

An old tweet from a user tied all the dots. The 2013 tweet read, “Just spoke to former VT TE Steven Johnson. Was on his way to Charlotte to get Dell and Sonya Curry and flew to Indy for Duke’s game. Cool.” This tweet from Jimmy Robertson confirms the relationship between the three.

“But it will be an acknowledgment from both of you in terms of how you raised me. I owe the peace I have inside to all of you,” Curry said. He spoke about how he is dealing with the situation calmly and maturely.
