Filed a fake complaint against husband; Court orders wife to pay maintenance to husband – INDIA – GENERAL

INDORE: In a rare verdict, a court ordered a woman to pay maintenance to her estranged husband. The court passed the order after it was found that the woman had filed a fake complaint against the estranged husband.

It was the Indore Family Court that passed the order. In her complaint, the woman had alleged that her husband tortured her physically and mentally over dowry. She also demanded that the court intervene to ensure her support. The husband later also turned to the court on the grounds that he had suffered from severe psychological stress after the marriage. He pointed out that he was unemployed as he even had to quit his studies to marry her.

The court convicted the woman after hearing arguments from both sides. The youth's lawyer said the court had directed the woman to pay Rs 5,000 per month as compensation to her estranged husband.
