Ghaziabad: A 36-year-old woman was allegedly killed on Wednesday by her husband who suspected her character, police said.
The incident occurred in the afternoon in Patla City, under the Niwari Police Station.
The man had taken his wife to a hospital after she had felt uncomfortable for the past three days. When they returned home on a scooter, the man took the woman to a field and said he had work there, said police superintendent (rural) Iraj Raja.
There he attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon and killed her, Raja Said.
An FIR was filed against the man after the victim’s brother filed a complaint alleging the defendant tortured his sister and also tried to kill her several times in the past, he said.
The body was sent for an autopsy, Raja said, adding that a hunt was underway to catch the defendant
