MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – A 43-year-old Island Lake woman who texted a friend of her ex-fiancé and sent intimate photos in hopes of exposing his infidelity was found guilty of a crime.
Bethany Austin was found guilty of non-consensual distribution of private sexual images during a three-day trial before McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge, according to a McHenry County District Attorney’s press release.
Austin sent the woman’s photos, along with a copy of the text messages and a letter to his ex-fiancé’s boyfriend, on Aug. 26, 2016, according to a press release. Evidence presented at a court hearing showed that Austin attempted to expose her former fiancé’s infidelity during their relationship.

According to a criminal complaint, the woman’s private, sexual images were sent without her consent.
Austin is due on April 26 in McHenry County court on charges of conviction.
