OPELOUSAS – Opelousas officers were at the scene of a shooting at an Opelousas Walmart on Thanksgiving Day.

A child exchange is said to have taken place and an argument broke out.

A shooting occurred around 5:12 p.m. when the suspect, Jordan Sereal, 22, male, pulled a gun and allegedly fired a shot at a woman and escaped from the scene.

The woman was rushed to hospital with a single gunshot wound to the upper body.

According to police, Walmart was closed at the time and there was no threat to the community.

The police were looking for the suspect and another woman.

Opelousas boss Mclendon told KATC that Lafayette police had found the suspect and accomplice and were being brought back to Opelousas.
