Police are investigating a tracking device found under the hood of a tagged NYPD, according to a police memo obtained by NBC News on Tuesday.

An Apple AirTag tracker, primarily used to track valuable items like car keys, has been spotted in Queens, but details on its exact location have not been shared.

The memo reminded officers to check their vehicles carefully and stressed extra caution towards police given the current political climate.

Meanwhile, a separate memo from the Daily News on Tuesday urged similar caution after describing a tire falling from a police car at a NYCHA housing project after an attacker appeared to loosen the lug nuts on the wheel.

The police are investigating both incidents.
