NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WKRN) – Thanks to GPS tracking, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) was able to recover a stolen vehicle and arrest several people over the weekend.
According to a police report, an MNPD helicopter tracked the stolen vehicle using the victim's cellphone when the GPS indicated the vehicle had reached East Nashville.
Officials said the helicopter unit observed at least four people exiting the vehicle on Dew Street.

Two of the suspects were reportedly arrested. The other two suspects fled in the direction of South 5th Street, police said.
Authorities reported that the helicopter unit observed 19-year-old Charles McKinney and another person climbing over a fence at a construction site and running down South 5th Street.
According to MNPD, officers pursued the suspects while continuously yelling “Stop! Police!” During the brief chase, McKinney allegedly crashed and was warned that he would be tasered if he continued to flee from officers.
