GPS tracking systems will be fitted to all Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) tankers by April 15, and the process will later be implemented for all private tankers, said Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of Energy and Energy in Sri Lanka.

The minister said this morning (April 06) at a progress review meeting with the CEYPETCO and the management of Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) and its senior staff.

In addition, during the meeting they reviewed the fuel schedule for the next 08 weeks, refinery operations and fuel distribution during the holiday season, the minister said.

Meanwhile, the minister said decisions had been made to suspend the licenses of 40 service stations that have consistently failed to comply with QR fuel quotas.
