Man kills woman for infidelity
Mashonaland East Police are investigating a case in which a Mudzi man, Zvimbonero Simende, 35, allegedly murdered his wife in cold blood for infidelity.
After the gruesome murder of his wife Janet Nyamutsenga, 34, Simende is said to have committed suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree some 20 meters from where he killed his wife.
The two bodies were discovered by another villager, Simon Simeti.
The recent matter was reported to police, who visited the scene and found the woman had a deep cut on her neck and a blood-stained ax left near the body of the deceased.
“Simon Simeti reported the matter to the police in Suswe. It is alleged that Simende and his wife had a misunderstanding about infidelity. During the investigation, police discovered that Janet Nyamutsenga was lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on her neck.
“Zvikomborero Simende had bloodstains on his shoulders and had no injuries. This led to some speculation that Simende hanged himself after murdering his wife. The investigation is ongoing,” Misheck Denhere, Deputy Police Spokesman for Mashonaland East Province Assistant Inspector, said.
