CHENNAI: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Neelankarai on Friday. The late Gomathi, 35, worked as a temporary worker at the Chennai Corporation, and the defendant Hari, 35, of Mettu Colony, is an electrician.
The couple have two children.
Police said Hari often argued with Gomathi, who she suspected of infidelity. “The couple and Hari had an argument on Friday. In a fit of anger, she stabbed Gomathi with a kitchen knife and cut her throat,” said the policeman. While Gomathi died on the spot, Hari surrendered at Neelankarai Police Station. The police took her body back and sent it post-mortem.
