“I didn’t even take an extra Rs from Nawazuddin Siddiqui,” Aaliya Siddiqui clarifies on the maintenance allegation
Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his wife Aaliya Siddiqui have been in the headlines for years because of their divorce. The ex-couple have taken the floor on several occasions to discuss their issues and things even got to an ugly stage a few months ago. And it came even more into the public eye when Aaliya entered Bigg Boss OTT 2 as a contestant.
However, Aaliya only had a short stint on the show and was recently kicked out. After her departure, she had an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble where she opened up about her and Nawaz’s relationship. One of those details concerned the finances exchanged between them, and Aaliya explained her position on it.

Earlier this year, Aaliya and Nawaz both posted statements about their equation on their social media. Both sides accused each other of allegations. One of them was Nawaz, who said Aaliya abandoned her children and used them to extort money from him. In response, Aaliya had posted her bank statements online.
However, when she came back to that statement, people assumed things were settled financially between the ex-couple. But Aaliya clarifies that’s not the case. She said: “Isme kuch bhi sachhai nahi hai. Maine 1 Rupee Bhi US Shaks Se Abhi Tak Nahi Liya Hai. Ulta maine like ke diya hai ki tumhe jo lena hai wo le lo, mujhe ek rupee nahi chahiye, siway ek ghar ke kyunki wo ghar mujhe zaruri hai meri apni life ke liye. (There’s no truth to that. I didn’t even take a rupee from that man. Rather, I wrote to him saying he could take whatever he wanted from me. I don’t want a single rupee from him, just…our house).
Aaliya explains why she asked for the house
Aaliya went on to explain why she needed the house to herself. She revealed: “Main aaj ye boll rahi hun aur kal bhi ye baat bolungi aur maine like ke bhi yahi diya hai ki mujhe ye ghar de do.” Wo ghar mere hisse mein aadha tha, aadha hissa aapka tha, wo mujhe de do atleast bloe jitne logon ke karze hain, jo bloe commits hain, wo main bech ke unko de dungi. Main apna khud khadi ho jaungi. There is no difference between being at home and not being at home. Saans le Rahi hun, zinda hun na. Mar thodi ja rahi hun ki ghar nahi hoga to main jee nahi shakti hun. (I said that today and I will say it tomorrow and I also wrote that I want this house. It’s half mine and half Nawaz’s and I want his half from him so I can pay off my debt. I will take care of myself alone. It doesn’t matter if I have a house or not. I live, I won’t die if I don’t have a house.)”

She explained that all money exchanges between her and Nawaz were court-ordered. Aaliya informed: “So Maine Us Shaks Se 1 Rupay Bhi Abhi Tak Nahi Liya Hai. Jo deta hai wo monthly de raha hai kyunki court ne usko diya hai ki aapko ye payment karna hai usko. Aapko ye dena hai where aap mana nahi kar sakte. So dish ne mujhe ye diya hai jo monthly aata hai. (I didn’t even take a rupee more from him. Whatever he gives is done because the courts ordered it too).”
Aaliya added: “Maine 1 rupee bhi usse aaj tak nahi liya hai.” This is my bank statement where aaj tak wahi hai. So no changes nahi aaye. Log bol rahe hain le liya, le liya. Le liya hai to Nawaz aake dikha do na maine kyaliya hai. Jaise main dekha deti hun khulla ki mera statement ye hai, aap bhi dekha do aake agar liya hai to. Court ka hi koi order dikha do ki itne paise liye hain maine aap se. (My bank statement is still the same. If people think I took some extra, Nawaz can come and show me his bank statements to show how much I took.)”
Regarding Nawaz’ claims…
Aaliya continued to insist that it was she who left Nawaz. She claimed, “Maine choda hai usko, maine like ke diya hai ki mujhe tujhse nahi chahiye kuch.” Zu wo kaise bol sakta hai ki main paise ke liye aayi hun. Unhone bhi bhi tha bahut saari cheezon mein ki maine isko itna diya hai, ye saari Cheesein kari hain. Main Yahi Bata Raha Hun Ki Galaat Cheesein Mat Batao, Jo Bhi Hai Truth Bolo. (I left him and wrote that I didn’t want anything from him. So how can he say that I took money from him? He often said that he gave me this and that money. Don’t spread lies, huh whatever it is, tell the truth.)”
