Investigators raid Exeter Township garbage dump in relation to lacking individual case | Berk’s Regional News
EXETER TWP., PA – Bulldozers scour mounds of garages looking for clues.
“It’s kind of crazy, but I mean, in the world we live in today, things like that happen,” said Exeter Township’s Joe Clevenstine.
The man lives across from the Pioneer Crossing landfill site in Exeter Township and said he was aware of a search which sources say our partners at WPVI are linked to a missing persons case in Limerick Township, Montgomery County.
43-year-old Jennifer Brown, a single mother, was last seen more than a week ago.
Investigators struggled with windy conditions, not to mention a large amount of trash.
“I mean, this thing is like a little mountain,” Clevenstine said. “I can’t imagine what it would be like to dig through there to find something.”
Exeter Township Police said they had been directed to direct any questions to the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office.
JP Mascaro & Sons operates the landfill.
The company issued the following statement, in which it was partially quoted: “…We are not in a position to comment. It is not for us to comment on such things, other than to state that neither the landfill nor JP Mascaro & Sons are the subject of any investigation and we will of course cooperate and provide any assistance the authorities may require.
No word on what exactly the police are looking for.
Police say Brown’s car was parked outside her home, with her keys, purse and work cell phone still at her home.
“I hope they find what they’re looking for and at least give the family members some closure if they’re looking for it,” Clevenstine said.
