Massachusetts investigators returned Sunday morning to the home of a missing Cohasset woman who has not been seen since her early flight on New Year’s Day. Ana Walshe, 39, was last seen in the early hours of January 1 at her home in Cohasset and her cell phone and credit and debit cards have been inactive as of that day, according to Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley In Washington, DC around 9 Sunday :00 a.m., several marked and unmarked police cruisers arrived at Walshe’s home on Chief Justice Cushing Highway (Route 3A). Walshe is a mother to three boys aged between 2 and 6 years. Borghi also saw a red truck pull up outside the house early Sunday morning and drop off an elderly woman, who spoke to an investigator for a few minutes. The same woman later appeared to leave home with the children in a different vehicle. Shortly thereafter, Borghi saw a man exit the home in a separate vehicle. The Norfolk County Attorney’s Office has led the investigation into the missing person. Sunday’s unexpected mobilization follows an announcement by the Massachusetts State Police and the Cohasset Police Department on Saturday night, with officials saying their ground search was complete after two straight days of work. Authorities said 20 soldiers from the MSP Special Emergency Response Team, a specialized unit trained in search and rescue, along with three K-9 teams, officers from the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council and the State Police Air Wing Unit were searching forested areas in the near Walshe’s house with negative results for the second day in a row. State police divers also searched a small stream and pool with negative results, according to authorities. “The ground search will not proceed unless police develop new information warranting it. At the same time, State Police and Cohasset Police de Officers continue to conduct various investigative actions in an attempt to determine Ms. Walshe’s whereabouts,” it said in the joint statement. A fire damaged Walshe’s former home during Friday’s search in Cohasset. Officials said that was ultimately not determined as suspicious. Quigley said the family also owns a townhouse in the nation’s capital, but noted that the DC Metropolitan Police Department searched the home and found no sign of Walshe there. A spokesman for the Cohasset Police Department said that Cohasset and state police officers arrived in Washington early Saturday morning as part of the investigation. She was simultaneously reported missing on Wednesday by her husband, who lives in Cohasset, and her employer, who is based in Washington, DC
