Italian court docket orders Berlusconi to pay 1.four million euros per thirty days for upkeep | Italy

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was sentenced under a divorce agreement to pay his former wife 1.4 million euros a month in maintenance, reported Italian media.

Veronica Lario, 58, was married to the billionaire media tycoon and politician for almost 25 years before divorcing him in 2014. She initially received a grant of 3 million euros a month.

Berlusconi, 78, appealed the amount and a court in Monza near Milan ruled on Tuesday that he had to pay her 1.4 million euros.

The two separated in 2009 after Berlusconi was embroiled in a scandal over his participation in the birthday party of 18-year-old Noemi Letizia. Lario told the press that she “couldn’t stay with a man who deals with minors”.

In 2011, Berlusconi was accused of paying exotic dancer Karima El-Mahroug for sex when she was a minor at “bunga-bunga” parties in his villa in Milan. He was convicted in 2013 but acquitted that year.
