Italian legend Francesco Totti claims his spouse’s infidelity induced their marriage to interrupt up
Roma legend Francesco Totti has claimed his marriage to Ilary Blasi fell through because she failed to support him following his retirement from football and his father’s death from Covid-19.
Totti married former showgirl and TV presenter Blasi in 2005 and the couple have three children together. However, they announced they had split in July and Totti has now revealed the reasons for the split.
The 45-year-old retired from football in 2017 and admitted he struggled without being on the pitch before losing his father to Covid in October 2020. During these challenging times, he feels that his wife was not there to comfort him.
“I went through a difficult period, first because I stopped playing and then my father died of Covid,” Totti told Corriere della Sera, as quoted by brand.
“I also had a strong Covid (disease) for 15 days. But my wife wasn’t there when I needed her most.’
After their split, there was some speculation that Totti may have cheated on Blasi as he now has a new partner, Noemi Bocchi.
However, Totti has tried to set the record straight by explaining that he found out last year that his wife had been cheating on him.

Totti and Blasi were together for 17 years but announced their split earlier this year
“It’s not true that I was the first to betray. I said I wouldn’t speak and I didn’t, but I’ve read too many hoaxes in the past few weeks. Some have even made my children suffer,” he continued.
“In September last year, the rumors reached me: ‘Look, Ilary has another one. Actually more than one.”
“I had never done that in twenty years, and she had never done it to me either. But after receiving warnings from various people I trust, I began to distrust.
“I looked at her cell phone and saw that there was a third person acting as an intermediary between Ilary and another.”
Totti has admitted finding out about his wife’s infidelity took a toll on his mental health and he has credited Bocchi with helping him get through this difficult time in his life.

“Here was the proof (of the affair). The facts. And that led me to depression. I could no longer pretend nothing had happened, but it wasn’t me anymore, it was someone else. I got out thanks to Noemi,’ he added.
Totti and Blasi are now likely to settle their issues in court, but Totti hopes it won’t come to that.
“I’m afraid Ilary will end up in court. I still hope we can come to an agreement.
“Now I’m silent. This afternoon it cost me six months of my life. I would have liked to have spoken a thousand times about football and Roma, which I always carry in my heart,” he said.
Blasi is silent at the moment, but could get her chance to speak out in court
Meanwhile, Blasi refuses to reveal too much at this time, with her lawyer Alessandro Simeone declaring on her behalf: “I have always protected my children and will continue to protect them.”
However acc Corriere della SeraBlasi is reported to have told friends, “I’ve discovered things that could ruin about fifty families,” suggesting she has her own side of the story to tell when she feels the time is right.
That time could come before the courts, and the Corriere della Sera report claims that Totti and Blasi’s relationship has deteriorated even further since they split two months ago.
They speculate a court date could be explosive as the pair may resort to “low blows” and reveal new information about each other.
